Americans Against Geography!
Mar. 16th, 2009 12:21 pmReally, there should be an official group with the above name. I am amazed at the ignorance of my fellow countryfolks. We all know about La Palin not realizing that Africa is a continent. Well, what about this, closer to home: every single sports announcer that I have heard, and I've listened to many now, in discussing the World Baseball Classic, even the ones doing the announcing in San Juan itself, thinks Puerto Rico is a separate country.
Of course, there are many Puerto Ricans who wish this were true, but then, there are just as many who want their island to be a full-fledged US state rather than just a United States Territory. It's self-governing to a large extent, but nonetheless, a US territory it is . . .
Good grief.
